This weekend we have a new update focusing mostly on World of Warcraft features, but also includes a few general enhancements.
Updated WoW Armory Profiles Our WoW Armory Profiles have been updated to work with new features from the Armory such as achievements and multiple talent specs. ![]() WoW Activity Blocks A new feature available with this update is WoW Activity Blocks! These blocks track changes in WoW's Armory and show updates for your whole guild, notifying you when members gain levels or new items, or when arena teams win and lose and more! ![]() *please note that it may be a few days before activities begin appearing on your site as we must crawl the armory twice before we'll see any changes that can be recorded as activities Automated Character Imports From Armory - * disabled Your character roster from the armory will now be automatically imported into your site, populating your characters list page. To support this new feature there is now a "Claim" and "Unclaim" feature on the characters page, as characters which are imported will not belong to any members, claiming it will list it under your profile correctly. * Note: Automated imports for the armory have been temporary disabled, please manually add the characters you wish to be crawled on the armory to your site New Characters List View The characters list page has been updated to a more simplified table view, and now includes some game specific info for World of Warcraft that is populated from the Armory. ![]() Wowhead Now Enabled Wowhead is now enabled for World of Warcraft guilds, allowing you to create tooltips for Wowhead data by linking to content on their site. Importing XML Raids is Improved Our importing raid data via XML has been improved, and now processes in the background and provides you with visual updates of how much of your content has been processed. General Performance Improvements We have made several performance improvements to the site, especially with our bbcode parser and the forums section, which should now be much quicker, even with large posts containing complex bbcode =) If you were logged in, you could comment.

I hope all chars are crawled soon. :)
Great update! Thanks.
There is no need to active anything for this update; however not all of the guild sites have been crawled yet..
All of the EU sites have, but some of the North American ones have not; this is because we've had a few little surprises with our script and had to restart it a few times to make some changes.. but most sites are crawled now and the rest should be soon =)
One thing that would be nice, is if one could filter the information that are visible in the "Wow Activity" block. We have lots of members and the block is full of "X now has Y achievement points. (+Z)". If one could choose what information to be shown the more interesting activities would be shown longer time (no this info dissappears).
One suggestion, the "x has been promoted to rank y" are reversed. The lower the number the "higher" that persons standing.
And the ability to filter activities will be coming shortly =)
We have updated the script so that it always crawls all guilds every morning; if your guild is not being crawled there is likely an issue with your guild's name or server.
We use your guild's name and guild's server to lookup your guild in the armory; so they must match for you to be crawled. I tried searching for your guild name "Exile on Draka" in the armory and it did not come up, so perhaps the name is incorrect?
You just need to go to the settings tab and change the "Guild Name:" to just "Exile" You can move the "on Draka" to the slogan field, although that will make it read out as "Exile: on Draka" We just did it as "Unbridled: A Horde Guild on Draka-US"
Ah thanks for helping Zyida =)
For the visibility, the information for activities is taken from the WoW Armory which is public, so we never really thought to add view level restrictions to it; we may be able to add this in a few patches though, as we'll be adding quite a few more options for each page soon and can likely fit a check box to control this in there =)
Wowhead is now enabled for World of Warcraft guilds, allowing you to create tooltips for Wowhead data by linking to content on their site.
Does this mean I can link achievements and it will show the tooltips or is it just for items? If I use the [item] tags for the achievement it comes back saying their is no data.
If you use the [item] tags it uses our own item tooltips which hook into Blizzard's armory. If you just create a link to content on wowhead it uses a wowhead tooltip, which aye includes achievements =)
The automated character imports for the armory will likely be replaced by a manual import you can do once (ie an import button you can click to do the import)..
We're going to be adding an admin section for each part of the site (similar to what the guildapps now have) and when we do the characters one the import will likely be available with it =)
Thanks for the speedy reply! So from what I understand, after we do this one-time import process, when our guild gets a new member, we'll still have to put him/her in manually? If so, I see this as a step backwards.
If I'm not understanding this properly...what are the benefits of this new process going to be as opposed to automating it?
Are you able to go further into the new process, or will we just have to wait and see? :P
The problem with automating it is the armory tracks inactive characters for a guild, so for larger guilds each time it does an automated import it can pull in a large amount of characters they do not want showing on their roster, as they are inactive, and they can't delete them cause they get pulled back with the next automated update..
To combat this, we're considering an "active/inactive" flag, but for larger guilds this may still be more work and not very useful, so we're also looking at a manual import button guilds can choose to use or not to use...
With either option likely some manual intervention will be required, so if possible the best way is to try and encourage your members to add their own characters, which they'll need anyways to signup with to events =)
Have been trying to add wowhead item tooltips to some items, read some posts that you have replied but still no good.
"If you use the [item] tags it uses our own item tooltips which hook into Blizzard's armory. If you just create a link to content on wowhead it uses a wowhead tooltip, which aye includes achievements =)"
To make it clear let me give an example of what i am trying to do.
Willing to add a gem "Quick King's Amber"
1- Checked wowhead's page to find the item.. url is:
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40128
2- While BBcode is active added the url by [url][/url].
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40128
but the wowhead tooltip not working yet.
is there something wrong with the steps i undertake or is that because mmoguildsites not accepting the wowhead tooltips anymore?
thanks in advance.
The wowhead script was temporarily disabled as a recent update seemed to have an error in it that was causing Internet Explorer to break all js on the site; we're planning to re-enable this soon once we verify the script is working again =)
